Core Beliefs

Scripture

2 Timothy 3:16, 17;  2 Peter 1:16-21

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired, so that it is inerrant in the original manuscripts and preserved by God in its verbal, plenary inspiration, so that it is the divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life.

Salvation

Eph. 2:8-10; Jn. 1:12; Eph. 1:7; I Pet. 1:18, 19; James 2:17, 26; Rom. 3:28

We believe that salvation with its forgiveness of sins, its impartation of a new nature and its hope of eternal life, is entirely apart from good works. It is of pure grace. Apart from the cleansing of the precious blood of Christ there is no forgiveness for sins. The faith in Christ that saves is a gift from God and is always evidenced by a changed life and spiritual fruit.

Jn. 10:27,  28;
Rom. 13:13,  14;  Tit. 2:11-14

We believe that a true believer is eternally secure, that he cannot lose his salvation but that sin may interrupt the joy of his fellowship with God and bring the loving discipline of his Heavenly Father.

Mankind

Gen. 1:26, 27; Rom. 3:23; Rom. 5:12;
Eph. 2:1-3, 12

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. Man is totally depraved and, of himself, is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.

Eternity

Jn. 14:1-6; II Cor. 5:8; Mt. 25:41; Lk. 16:19-31; Rev. 4:8

We believe in a literal, eternal heaven and hell. Heaven is a place prepared for all born-again believers. All who die in Christ will immediately be present with Him. Hell is a place of punishment for all who will not receive Christ as personal Savior.

God

Deut. 6:4;  I Cor. 8:6;  II Cor. 13:14

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1; Col. 1:16,  17;  John 1:3

We believe in God as absolute and sole Creator of the universe, and that creation was by divine spoken command, not through evolutionary process.

Jesus Christ

Lk.  1:34,  35;  Jn. 17:5;  Jn. 8:46;  II Cor. 5:21;  Isa. 53:6;  Rom. 8:34;  Rev. 20:1-6

We believe that Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man, that He was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life; that He was crucified, died as a penalty for our sins and was raised from the dead bodily on the third day. Later He ascended to the Father’s right hand where He is head of the church and intercedes for believers, and from whence He is coming again personally, bodily, visibly to this earth to set up His Millennial kingdom.

Holy Spirit

I Cor. 12:12-14; Rom. 8:9; Eph. 1:13, 14; Jn. 16:13;I Jn. 2:27; Eph. 5:18

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, is God and possesses all the divine attributes. He indwells all believers, baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of their salvation, and fills and controls them in response to confession of sin and yielding to Him.
